FAQ
No. Our 14U division welcomes strong swimmers with no polo background. Coachability and water comfort matter more than years played at that age. All other divisions benefit from some prior experience but it is not required.
Water polo cap (provided on site), swim suit, goggles (optional), and a water bottle. Show up hydrated. Tryouts run 2–3 hours at full intensity.
Annual dues are $1,800 for youth divisions and $900 for adult league. This covers pool time, coaching, tournament entry fees, and team gear. Payment plans available — no athlete is turned away for financial reasons.
14U and 16U play 6–8 regional tournaments. 18U competes in 8–10 tournaments including national qualifiers. Adult league plays 4 regional events plus an end-of-season championship.
Surge runs a development track within the 14U division specifically for athletes transitioning from swim team or recreational polo. They train separately 3 days a week before joining the competitive group.
